Sales for Toyota Tacoma in the U.S. market increased by more than 15 percent in November compared to the same month last year as demand for the automaker’s pickup trucks remained unexpectedly strong.

Demand for Toyota’s trucks helped push the manufacturer’s year-over-year sales for all vehicles up 4.3 percent in November, beating a Bloomberg survey of analysts that estimated a 3.4 percent increase. Toyota’s sales, year-to-date, are down 2.4 percent.

Multiple auto manufacturers said that an extra two selling days in November and earlier Black Friday deals likely helped car companies sell more vehicles last month.

From January through November Toyota has sold 7.2 percent more Tacoma’s than in the same period of 2015. The mid-sized pickup truck is built at Toyota’s San Antonio and Baja California, Mexico, plants.

Toyota’s Tundra, the company’s full-sized pickup truck exclusively made in San Antonio, posted year-over-year sales gains of 11.5 percent for the month. Sales through the first 11 months of the year fell by 3.5 percent.
