Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster vows to be the most diversified of its kind

The Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster plans to consolidate as one of Mexico’s largest aviation-focused clusters, said its president Rene Espinosa, noting that six out of the eight aerospace OEMs that have been established in Mexico are located in the cluster.

Espinosa revealed the Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster has generated more than 17,000 direct jobs and is currently the most diversified of its kind in Mexico.

Among the future plans for the cluster is to grow it as a supply chain base, Espinosa explained to local reporters, citing a joint venture between Embraer and Zodiac Aerospace as one of several pending projects.

Both companies plant to produce interiors for Embraer’s current and next-generation regional jets at a local facility in the coming months, Espinosa told, refraining from further details.
