Daimler and Nissan are re-examining the extent of their collaboration for the Mexican factory in which they plan to produce Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz vehicles. These firms are building a joint plant valued at US$1 billion in Aguascalientes, which will have capacity to produce 230,000 autos a year. The extent of the collaboration is currently under review due to the U.S. threat of increasing the customs fees on vehicles manufactured south of the border. Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan, and Dieter Zetsche, Daimler's Executive President, said there might be a deceleration in the rhythm of this collaboration, now that the obvious projects are under attack.
