FCA Mexico’s executive named Pinnacle Professional for fifth year in a row

May Leng Yau-Patterson has been recognized by Continental Who's Who as Pinnacle Professional in the Automotive industry, the fifth year in a row that she has received this honor. Yau-Patterson is the Head of World Class Manufacturing Mexico Operations for FCA US LLC, formerly known as Chrysler Group LLC.

In her current role, Yau-Patterson is responsible for leading and coaching plant managers and leadership teams at the assembly, engine and stamping plants throughout Mexico in the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM), a methodology that focuses on eliminating waste, increasing productivity, and improving quality and safety in a systematic and organized way. 

She is responsible for the development and engagement of people in the application of the WCM technical methods and tools to achieve operational excellence. WCM has been credited as one of the key strategies in the continued success of FCA US.

As a certified Global WCM Auditor, Yau-Patterson performs World Class Manufacturing audits at facilities to help identify and drive out all forms of waste to achieve business results.

Yau-Patterson specializes in Lean Manufacturing; Supply Chain Management; Logistics Management; Strategy Development; Purchasing; Material Handling and Packaging Solutions; Industrial Engineering; and Logistics Engineering. 

Yau-Patterson has been recognized worldwide and received numerous awards for her leadership and commitment to the profession.  Recently, Yau-Patterson was named 2017 Woman of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) and featured in Reuters Building in New York's Times Square. 

Other recognitions have included being honored as Top Professional of the Year in Manufacturing for 2016-2017 by IAOTP, named one of Automotive News' 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry, selected as Delegate Featured Leader by the International Women's Leadership Association, selected as a recipient of the Women of Color Achievement, and awarded Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year as well as Empire Who's Who Professional of the Year both in the automobile industry. 

Yau-Patterson was featured in the 2015 and 2016 editions of the Inner Circle Executive Magazine, 2011 edition of Top 101 Industry Experts publication and Automotive News September 2010 edition.

Yau-Patterson earned both her Bachelor of Science in Systems Analysis and Master of Science in Operations Research from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.

Looking back, Yau-Patterson attributes her success to her work ethic, experience, perseverance and passion for what she does.
