By the end of March Michelin will start the second phase of its Guanajuato plant construction at the Leon-Bajio Industrial Park, state officials announced in a press release.

The French firm is scheduled to start operations in 2019 after a US$ 510 million investment. Current work is focused on building the platform, which will clear the way to erect the rest of the structure.

The announcement comes days after a conflict between hopper truck operators threatened to delay the program, but officials assured the situation is being handled accordingly.
