BeijingWest Industries Co. Ltd. (BWI), a China-based brake and suspension manufacturer whose customers include Audi, BMW, GM and Porsche, will invest more than US $80 million to build a 276,000 square-foot plant in Greenfield, Indiana, creating up to 441 jobs by 2021, according to Inside INdiana Business

An executive said high demand forced the company to decide between expanding its current facility in Chihuahua, Mexico, or building a new one.

BWI operates a 215,000 square-feet facility in Chihuahua state capital where 285 employees manufacture shock absorbers and antilock brake systems.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. plans to offer BWI up to US$ 4.5 million in conditional tax credits and up to US$ 200,000 in training grants. The city of Greenfield is considering additional tax incentives as well.
