Japanese auto supplier Samtech builds US$ 27 million plant in Guanajuato

Japanese auto supplier Samtech broke ground to build a manufacturing plant at Leon-Bajio Industrial Park (PILBA), located in the municipality of Leon, Guanajuato.

The company plans to invest US$ 27 million and recruiting of 75 workers to manufacture gears and bearing hubs for automotive applications.

Samtech will be the second firm to establish operations at PILBA, where Michelin also builds its US$ 510 million facility.

At the breaking ground ceremony, Governor Miguel Marquez said 71 Japanese companies have started operations under his term, creating 23,479 direct jobs.

This is Samtech first manufacturing site in Mexico, the company also owns operations in Japan, Thailand and the United States.
