Eosol inks US$ 250 million deal to build three solar plants in Durango

Spain-based renewable energy company Eosol reached an agreement with Durango state authorities to install three large-scale solar power plants with a combined capacity of 283.6 MW, government official revealed.

The European firm is expected to invest US$ 250 million and create 500 jobs for the three schemes, according to a press release.

The first project, denominated TAI-VI, will have a capacity of 108 MW and expected to be connected to the Mexican grid in July 2018. Construction of the US$ 100-million power plant is scheduled to start next August.

The second project, Las Animas II, is a 57.6-MW solar plant scheduled to begin construction in February 2018 over a 126 hectares surface, with completion scheduled for December of the same year. The total investment for this plant is to reach approximately US$ 50 million.

The final project denominated Versalles de las Cuatas will have a capacity of 118 MW and is expected to require an investment of US$ 100 million. This project is still under development.
