Japanese machining tools and systems and machine components manufacturer Nachi-Fujikoshi Corp. officially opened in the state of Queretaro its first production site in Mexico.

The company revealed it invested US$ 13 million to build the 107,000 square-feet facility located at the Aerotech Industrial Park in the municipality of Colon.

On full deployment, the plant will employ 200 workers to manufacture bearings. Nachi expects to reach a 7 million pieces output during 2017, with plans to increase it up to 10 million in 2018.

The facility provides parts for Tier 1 auto suppliers but it also delivers directly to automakers. Sources at the opening ceremony revealed that Honda, GKN and eventually Toyota will be among the customers to be served from this production site, but Nachi executives declined to confirm this information.
