Mexico and the European Union (EU) started their fourth round of negotiations to modernize their Trade Agreement. Mexico is making an effort to deepen its access into the European agricultural market, while the EU is targeting the energy markets and the protection of hundreds of origin denominations. Mexico, currently sending over 80% of its exports to the U.S., is looking to diversify its commerce, whereas European and Mexican representatives agreed last May to increase the frequency of these negotiation meetings in order to accelerate the process.
