Six years after it was founded, Monterrey-based manufacturer Tanques y Remolques Sol (Tyrsol) started operations in its second production plant in Nuevo Leon. Around 40 new positions were created for the new facility, in addition to the 120 existing jobs.

Last June the facility began its first phase of operations to manufacture tank trailers for the growing demand in the Mexican market, company officials revealed.

In a second stage, the company expects to manufacture tank trailers that meet all the specifications and requirements for the U.S. market. Miguel Vazquez, Tyrsol General Manager, said the new plant will be fully operational by the end of this year.

The new plant covers an area of 86,111 square-feet, which combined with the first facility totals a 215,278 square-feet footprint. The company did not reveal the amount of investment required in the second plant.

Tyrsol production range includes tanks with capacity to ship fuels, asphalt, drinking water, sewage or food, among other type of liquids.

In addition to tanks, Tyrsol produces equipment such as flips, hoppers, platforms and low boys made of ultra-light steel, so they can compete against aluminum equipment.
