Spain-based Ingeteam to build steel production line for Galvasid in Apodaca, NL

Electrical engineering and solutions supplier Ingeteam announced it was awarded a contract from Mexican steelmaker Galvasid to set up a new galvanized steel production line in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.

The Spain-based company will be in charge of all basic and detailed engineering as well as the setup of all electrical and automated production equipment in the line which also includes painting and skin pass processes.

The material obtained from these new facilities will be mainly destined to the construction industry, but will also be intended for domestic appliances and metal components in general.

The new galvanizing line will be able to manufacture 250,000 tons of galvanized sheet steel per year, while the paint line will be able to print 200,000 tons per year.

Ingeteam expects to deliver the production line by the end of 2018. No financial terms of the contract were revealed.
