Macquarie’s US$ 42.4 million solar plant in Coahuila is now operational

Macquarie Mexican Infrastructure Fund (FIMM I for its initials in Spanish), an investment fund by Australian bank Macquarie, announced to stock market regulators that its 22.5 MW photovoltaic plant, located in Matamoros, Coahuila, is now operational.

The US$ 42.4 million Parque Solar Coahuila is now set and ready to supply power to the government of Coahuila state and the municipalities of Matamoros and Torreon through a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA), extendable for another 5 years.

The facility will also supply power to a Mexican corporation under a 7-year PPA with a 3-year extension option, said FIMM I in a filing with the Mexican Stock Exchange (PDF format).

The construction of the plant was announced in October 2014 by Spain-based TSK Group, then acquired by FIMM I in August 2016.
