Grupo Fiesta Charra, producer of Tostadas Charras, earlier this month opened a new production plant located in the municipality of San Jose Iturbide, in Guanajuato, Mexico, with a US$ 18.1 million investment.

The facility, which was built on a 6.4 acres site, will double the capacity from 1,300 to 2,600 tons per year, enough to efficiently supply the 25 distribution centers located in Mexico and four in the United States. Around 250 jobs will be created once the plant becomes fully operational somewhere in the next three years.

The company has a wide portfolio of products such as corn toast, nachos and totopos, chips, fritters, pozolero maize, popcorn and maize-based flours. Among its main customers are Wal-Mart, HEB, Soriana and Comercial Mexicana.
