Mexican and Chinese investors broke ground in recent days to build a new industrial park in the municipality of Salinas Victoria, Nuevo Leon, located just 20 miles North of Monterrey, the state capital.

The Hofusan Industrial Park is a joint effort between Chinese corporations Holley Group and Futon Group, as well as Cesar Santos, a prominent investor from Monterrey who will also preside the Executive Board.

The companies plan to invest up to US$ 60 million to develop 850 hectares of space (some 2,100 acres) to host some 100 plants or facilities they expect to attract over a 10-year period.

The premises will have the potential to bring up to US$ 2 billion investments and create 20,000 jobs, said Santos at the ceremony.
