Carlos Talancon Ostos, Secretary of Economic Development in Tamaulipas, will embark on a trade mission to South Korea, Japan and China next month aiming to land Tier 1 and 2 suppliers for the KIA Motors assembly plant in Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon, reports the Rio Grande Guardian.

“We’re gonna go next month to Korea, to Japan and to China. One of the important things for KIA is they want us to have a (trade) mission with their potential suppliers in Korea,” he said to the Laredo-based new outlet.

Talancon said the trip was originally planned for one week but has now been extended for two and a half weeks. He will be accompanied by representatives from the city of Nuevo Laredo.
