Project for “La Ruta de Cortes” touristic train, worth US$100 million

A new touristic train that contemplates  “La Ruta de Cortes”, running from Mexico City to Veracruz, is in the works. With an approximate investment of US$100 million, the project contemplates to be ready for operation in two years. The 500th anniversary of the arrival of Hernan Cortes, in 2019, is approaching, and so the organization for a touristic train has begun. This project has the intention of driving the regional tourism, using the existing railroad infrastructure for this purpose. This shall be the beginning of a project with a vision to intertwine several routes in Mexico, and hence favor employment through the touristic sector.
