Austria-based mold maker Alba to expand operations in Queretaro

Alba Tooling & Engineering GmbH plans to expands operations in Mexico because of the growing demand the group perceives in the automotive sector, company officials revealed to Plastic News.

The Austria-based manufacturer builds molds for foamed car components like seats under a partnership with Canadian mold making company Omega Tool Corp. Both companies operate at the same facility in Queretaro.

According to the website, Alba plans to expand its operations there next year to add staff and upgrade its laboratory space and services. "You have to be where the market is booming. The automotive market in Mexico is booming," Alba Managing Partner Anton Naue said in an interview.
