Spain-based logistics and assembly solutions supplier Truck & Wheel broke ground in San Luis Potosi to build a US$ 15 million facility to serve the automotive industry in the region.

According to a press release by state authorities, the company plans to hire up to 90 workers to set up an operation of assembly and sequencing of rims and wheels for a major automaker, likely BMW.

Carlos Llonis Irigoyen, Executive Director of Truck and Wheel, said the arrival of the Spanish firm to the entity will not only consolidate the operation of the company, but will promote the training of highly qualified personnel.

“The arrival of Truck & Wheel is driven by the latest technology in the automotive sector in areas such as robotics, artificial vision, specialized own ERP, automatic warehouses, "Machine Learning" and Industry 4.0,” said the executive at the ground-breaking ceremony.

This will be Truck & Wheel’s second facility in Mexico. The company already operates a site in Puebla to supply assembly and logistic services for Volkswagen and Audi.
