French tire manufacturer Michelin plans to invest US$ 10 million to build a new corporate site in Queretaro, Mike Boggs, CEO of the company in Mexico, revealed to El Financiero in recent days.

The project adds new capital investment to the US$ 510 million plant the company builds in the neighbor state of Guanajuato, which will produce tires for high-performance cars and trucks, the executive added.

"We built a new building, which has a capacity for 230 people. But we plan to increase our workforce by at least 100 people, and we needed more space," said Boggs.

There are 18 automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) plants in El Bajío region (Central Mexico) that represent potential customers for the French group.
