Spain-based energy company unveils photovoltaic project in Chihuahua

Officials from the Spanish company Uriel Renewables revealed before Chihuahua state authorities the photovoltaic project "San Jeronimo Solar" to generate clean, low-cost electricity.
The representatives noted that the company created to oversee the project, San Jeronimo Solar SAPI de CV, plans to open 200 temporary jobs during the construction phase and 20 permanent positions during the operational phase.
The energy generated with this project would be equivalent to the consumption of more than 100,000 households and its environmental impact would prevent the emission of 200,000 tons of CO2 per year, with competitive prices for the local industry.
The San Jeronimo Solar plant will occupy an area of 250 hectares and is scheduled to become operational in 2019. Investment figures and output capacity of the project were not disclosed.
