Mazda hits 700,000-unit production milestone at Guanajuato assembly plant

Four years after it started operations at the assembly plant in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mazda Motor Corporation announced that it has reached the production of 700,000 vehicles.

The milestone came as a bright red Mazda3 hatchback that rolled out of the production line at 13:35 on January 25, according to a press release.

Yoshitomi Inagaki, Vice President of Manufacturing of Mazda, stressed that this achievement is the result of the work of all employees of the company and appreciated the dedication that each one of them contributes in the manufacture of every unit.

Samuel Lopez, manager of final assembly, recognized the effort and perseverance to bring happiness to 700,000 customers around the world through their cars.

Currently, Mazda has 6,000 employees and manufactures the Mazda2 and Mazda3, sedan and hatchback models, as well as the Yaris-R for the Japanese Toyota, exporting about 90% of its production to more than 33 countries.
