Volkswagen de Mexico registered improvements in its processes in 2017 equivalent to US$ 34 million in savings, the German automaker revealed.

Through its Corporate Innovation platform, the company, with plants in Puebla and Silao, Guanajuato, received about 1,500 initiatives to improve its processes, designed and implemented by the personnel themselves.

In a statement, the company highlighted that the ideas of the collaborators were aimed at optimizing productive, logistical and administrative processes, as well as proposing improvements to the product.

The 2017 campaign of initiatives aimed at the efficient use of resources reported savings equivalent to the monthly electricity consumption of 23,500 households, as well as water consumption of 201,300 people per day.

The Corporate Innovation platform is one of the tools with which Volkswagen de Mexico encourages the participation of its personnel in the generation of ideas to improve their processes.

Those collaborators that generate and put into practice the initiatives, receive a percentage of the savings obtained with their idea.
