Mexico’s Federal Government inaugurates cargo train in the New Airport

The railroad connection to the New International Airport in Mexico City, which is going to transport rubble and materials to aid the construction works, was inaugurated this week, after a seven-month delay. Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, head of the Ministry of Communications and Transport (SCT), informed that this infrastructure cost US$72 million and it is going to replace an undetermined number of trucks, while expediting the cargo movement. Moreover, this train is going to facilitate the connection of this premises with ports in the Mexican Gulf and the Pacific coast, as well as the Northern Border of the Country.
