New Jersey-based manufacturer Weiss-Aug Co. Inc., a supplier of plastic and metal components for medical, aerospace and automotive industries that last year started operations in Mexico, announced its facility located in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon is still going through an expansion process with the addition of two 22-ton high speed Bruderer presses for metal stamping capabilities.

Along with metal stamping operations, Weiss-Aug Mexico will also add precision injection and insert molding, as well as more assembly capability. For that end, the company plans to install three injection molding presses from Arburg GmbH & Co KG, each with a clamping force of 22 metric tons.

Metal stamping operations are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2018, while molding presses are scheduled to be operational by the end of the year, said plant manager Jorge Zamora Duque.

The company also recently announced the successful completion of ISO 9001:2015 certification through registrar Perry Johnson.

“We are happy to receive our certification, especially because we received zero major and zero minor non-conformances in our audit,” said Zamora.

Opened in June 2017, Weiss-Aug Mexico S. de RL. de C.V is the latest addition to the Weiss-Aug Group, and currently focuses on providing assembly services to medical device and automotive customers.

Although brand new, the 28,000 sq.-ft plant has already shipped over 1 million parts to its customers in the short time it has been operational.
