Boeing and Ryanair have announced that they have submitted an order for 25 additional large capacity aircraft model 737 MAX 8. The order, valued at US$3 billion at current catalog prices, was already showing on the Boeing orders and deliveries website, unidentified. "We are proud to announce that we have exercised our option to purchase 25 Boeing 737, which raises our Firm's order to 135 units of the 737 MAX 8 airplane," said Neil Sorahan, Ryanair Chief Financial Officer. "The 737 MAX 8 has eight seats more than the Boeing 737-800NG model we are currently using, which has 189 seats, and incorporates state-of-the-art engines and wing tips that reduce fuel consumption and noise pollution. This guarantees that we will continue to be Europe's greenest, cleanest and most economic airline, and we look forward to receiving our first 737 MAX 8 in the spring of 2019."
