CIRCOR International, a Massachusetts-based supplier of flow control solutions and other highly engineered products for the Industrial, Energy, and Aerospace & Defense markets, announced that its new Monterrey, Nuevo Leon facility has earned API Spec Q1 and Spec 6D certifications from the American Petroleum Institute (API).

“These certifications reflect CIRCOR Mexico’s commitment to continuous improvement of our quality management systems and our focus on delivering world-class products for customers in the oil and gas industry,” said Erik Wiik, Group President, CIRCOR Energy. “The API certifications enable our Mexico facility to play an even greater role in the Company’s global growth as we continue to meet our customers’ most pressing energy challenges.”

The API Spec Q1 is a company level certification that establishes system requirements necessary for organizations to consistently provide reliable products and manufacturing-related processes that meet customer and legal requirements in accordance with API or other specifications for use in the petroleum and natural gas industry in general.

The Spec 6D is a set of specifications and supplementary requirements set by the API that apply to the manufacture of pipeline valves.

CIRCOR Mexico is only the third company in Mexico to receive Spec 6D certification, which together with the Spec Q1 certification ensure that Quality Management Systems meet or exceed the highest standards in the petroleum industry.
