US tractor manufacturer AGCO shifts production to an expanded facility in Queretaro

AGCO, a U.S.-based manufacturer of agricultural equipment, invested US$ 10 million in the construction of a larger facility to expand operations at the Balvanera Industrial Park, in the municipality of Corregidora, Queretaro.

"This investment is only the first phase of a key project for the company," said at the opening ceremony Martin Richenhagen, CEO of the company whose portfolio includes brands such as Challenger, Fendt, GSI, Massey Ferguson and Valtra, among others.

AGCO operated for 20 years at the Jurica Industrial Park, located in the state capital, where it assembled 11 models of machinery ranging from combine harvesters, hay and forage equipment, as well as tractors of the Massey Ferguson and Challenger brands.

In the new plant, an annual production of 4,000 tractors is expected, which can be expanded to 10,000 units if the market demands so.

The General Director of Operations in Mexico, Ricardo Maggio, explained that the company began operations in the new facility two weeks ago without any disruptions, given that the moving process was carefully planned.
