The repeal of the ninth transitory article of the Airport Law and Regulations, which gave exclusivity to Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA) to provide storage, distribution and supply of turbosine, will serve to promote free competition in Mexico's domestic jet fuel market. This, according to the National Air Transportation Chamber (CANAERO)'s estimations, when it stated that the ninth transitory article interferes with the application of the Hydrocarbons Law, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on August 11th, 2014, thus promoting the entry into force of the Energy Reform in the aviation sector. In this way, the derogation published on June 21st means that the 78 companies with permits to import turbosine will have greater legal certainty to perform activities previously reserved for ASA.
