Yuken Surface Technology, a Japan-based manufacturer of surface treatment chemicals, announced the upcoming opening of a new plating on plastic (POP) plant in Irapuato, Guanajuato, central Mexico.

The facility, located at the Castro del Rio industrial park, will be inaugurated next month during an open house ceremony to showcase the technical capabilities in site.

“We are going to launch a POP line in August where plating on plastic operations will be performed for local customers at the Castro del Rio Industrial Park, in Irapuato, Mexico,” said the company in a statement.

The company started operations in 2014 at the same premises as manufacturer and distributor of industrial cleaners and surface treatment agents.

Yuken did not comment on the amount of investment required to build the plating facility nor the number of job positions it opened in order to begin operations.
