Sonora will contribute US$400 million to the export maquila industry

The companies affiliated to the export maquiladora industry will make investments in Mexico, especially in the northwest side of the country for US$2,600 million, in the remainder of the year 2018, of which, US$400 million will come from Sonora, said the representative of Index in Sonora, Gerardo Vásquez.

This investment will make the export maquiladora industry reach the 3 million formal jobs registered in the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), which earn 2.6 daily minimum wages. This, in turn, sends a message of certainty to those who want to invest in Mexico with the current and future federal government.
