Toyota secures firsts 60 suppliers for its upcoming plant in Guanajuato

Takaaki Kuga, manager of the Toyota office in Queretaro, from where the Japanese automaker manages the construction of the new plant in Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato, revealed to El Financiero that the work is progressing as planned and deals has been closed with around 60 suppliers in the region.

The official said that the recruitment of the 1,500 workers required in this facility will begin in early 2019 with a view to starting operations at the end of the same year with an annual capacity of 100,000 Tacoma pickups.

As previously reported, Toyota budgeted a US$ 700 million investment to build the plant, while the supplies purchases, according to Kuga, will be of approximately US$ 162 million over the next two years.
