The Mexican Space Agency (AEM) signed a collaboration agreement with the Baja California aerospace cluster with the purpose of detonating the competitiveness of the country in this sector.

The director of the AEM, Francisco Javier Mendieta, said in a statement that “this brings unimaginable opportunities since the global space market generates US$400 million, and this figure grows two digits every year.”

In the framework of the first symposium, “Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things for Space Applications,” Mendieta pointed out that these alliances detonate “the competitiveness of Mexico through the talent, creativity and ingenuity of our youth, who love technology so much.”

Also during the symposium, the president of the cluster, Tomás Sibaja López, pointed out that the entity has great capabilities and human capital.

“We are a reference in the aerospace issue at the national level, and with this agreement, we are committed and strengthened with plans from here to the year 2035,” López said.

The symposium was organized by the AEM, in conjunction with the Digital Technology Research and Development Center (CITEDI), the Computer Research Center and the Aerospace Development Center of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), among others.
