Heavy truck sales show mixed results in October

In October, wholesale sales of heavy vehicles totaled 4,487 units in the Mexican market, an increase of just 0.8% compared to 4,451 commercial vehicles in the same month last year. In contrast, retail sales were of 4,123 units, 14.9% more than in October 2017, according to the latest data from the National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor Truck Producers (ANPACT).

Regarding wholesale sales during the first 10 months of the year, these were of 33,026 heavy vehicles, a figure that represented a decrease of 1.8%, compared to 33,622 units sold from January through October 2017. Meanwhile, year-to-date retail sales totaled 33,725 units, which means an increase of 1.4%.

The ANPACT classifies the sales in wholesalers, which are those of manufacturers to dealers and retailers, which are the ones that the distributors do to freight companies or private drivers.
