Mazda Motor Corporation confirmed that two versions of the all-new Mazda3 will make its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show, open to the public from November 30 through December 9.

A new teaser shot released last week offers glimpses of both, the sedan and hatchback versions, featuring a more mature interpretation of the Kai Concept unveiled last year at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The arrival of all-new Mazda3 will mark the beginning of a whole new generation of Mazda cars based on performance-oriented architecture that weighs less, cost less and increases rigidity while delivering a quieter ride, said Mazda CEO Akira Marumoto to AutoNews

The Japanese automaker also confirmed some versions of the Mazda3 will feature the revolutionary Skyactiv-X engine whose spark-controlled compression ignition improves both performance and fuel economy.

Other engine options will be the current-generation 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G and a mild-hybrid system that pairs an electric motor to the Skyactiv-X.

Current versions of the Mazda3 are manufactured in Mexico, Japan and Thailand, but there’s still no confirmation that production of the next-gen model will take place at the Mexican facility, which is located in Salamanca, Guanajuato.
