Bosch opens a US$10-million innovation hub in Guadalajara

Bosch recently opened in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the property that will house its technology and innovation hub along with new corporate offices. It is the first building of this type that the German manufacturer builds in Mexico, in which it invested US$10 million.

The new facilities, which are located in the Sania shopping center and are distributed in 10 levels, were built under the concept of inspiring working conditions (IWC), which means they include open, bright and comfortable spaces.

Rene Schlegel, President of Bosch Mexico, informed that the first floor of the building will be occupied by an area called Connectory, and it will function as shared, or co-working offices, aimed at promoting the exchange of ideas among professionals, entrepreneurs and creators, among others.

In this way, future talents of technological innovation can be identified. The rest of the building will be made up of offices.

The executive added that these new offices bring together specialists and engineers focused on software development, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, mobility and connectivity, and engineering solutions, among other activities.

Mike Mansuetti, president of Robert Bosch North America, said at the facility's opening that North America remains an important market for Bosch, and the opening of these facilities reflects the maturity of the company's presence in Mexico and the continent.

“Our new location allows us to continue the important collaboration with the business and academic communities of Mexico, to imagine and bring to market the technological innovations of the future,” concluded Mansuetti.

Meanwhile, Schlegel said that for eight years Bosch has placed in Mexico annual investments for up to US$120 million “without stopping and, undoubtedly, we will continue to do so for years to come.”

“Mexico continues to be one of the most open economies in the world. It does not matter if other nations protect their markets, in this country we do not need it, what we want is to compete, because this makes people and companies generate ideas,” the official added.
