The 4,300 unionized workers of Audi Mexico began the year with a salary adjustment of between 5.35 and 5.76% as a timely response to the revision agreed by the company last year, union leader Álvaro López Vázquez told local media.

According to the union head, the increases vary depending on the results of the evaluations that Audi makes to each worker based on attendance and punctuality, as well as correct use of protective equipment, performance, cleanliness of the work area and the worker himself, and discipline.

Regarding possible dismissals, López Vázquez said that it is not contemplated to carry out cuts during this year. However, 300 temporary workers will see their contracts terminated between April and May.

The union leader said that the outlook for 2019 is a lot of work, since the production schedule only includes long weekends in May and September, while in the rest of the year the assembly plant will operate normally.
