Manufacturing production grows 8.8% in Bajío

From January to November 2018, the production value of the manufacturing industry reported an average increase of 8.8%, among the Bajio entities according to Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI).

Progress remained supported by greater growth in Aguascalientes and San Luis Potosí, towards the end of the previous year.

The information from Encuesta Mensual de la Industria Manufacturera (EMIM), conducted by INEGI, indicates that in the first eleven months of 2018 the production value of manufactures in Aguascalientes reported an amount of US$12.9 million, which meant an annual growth of 15.8%, while San Luis Potosi registered an increase of 16.4%, in that period, with US$16.6 million.

In Querétaro, the value of the manufacturing industry totaled US$1.355 million in January-November 2018, which meant an increase of 5.4% with respect to the same period in 2017.

Data from Instituto Nacional de Estadística refer that only Guanajuato continued with the negative trend, with a drop in the indicator of 2.3% in the period, and an amount of income of US$333,805.03.

During 2018, the state maintained a constant reduction in manufacturing value, unlike the rest of the region.
