Mexico-based Grupo LALA opens US$14 million plant in Costa Rica

Mexico’s Grupo LALA has inaugurated a US$14 million dairy plant in Costa Rica with the objective of strengthening and supplying to the Central American market. The plant, which is located in San Ramon, in the province of Alajuela, seeks to elevate the processes of industrialization from 50,000 liters of milk to 150,000 liters per day, according to official data.

The facility is distributed across 24,254 square meters, of which more than 4,000 square meters correspond to the expansion of an adjacent facility.

"This inauguration is the spearhead of what we want to do in Costa Rica through the generation of employment, innovation and the offer of a new option for high-quality dairy consumption and high nutritional value," said the general director of Grupo LALA, Mauricio Leyva.
