Grupo Marsan, a Spain-based supplier of surface coating services for the automotive industry, announced it will build its third plant in Mexico for which de company will allocate a US$ 1.69 million investment, Spanish media reported.

For that end, the company has received a revolving credit facility from COFIDES (Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo), a development bank co-owned by the Spain government and private funds which aims to drive forward the internationalization of small local enterprises.

Back in 2013, Grupo Marsan started operations in Mexico with the opening of an in-house processing facility in Celaya, Guanajuato for GKN, a UK-based manufacturer of automotive and aerospace components.

In 2016, the company opened its second production facility in the municipality of Villagran, also in the state of Guanajuato, to support operations of Germany-based auto parts manufacturer Brose.

Neither the exact location of the third plant nor the company it will serve have been disclosed, although company officials said it will be built nearby the existing facilities. Grupo Marsan only said that the production site will provide powder paint application services through electrostatic processes.
