Rivulis, an Israel-based designer y manufacturer of micro irrigation solutions, announced today that it is expanding its global footprint with the establishment of a new, state-of-the-art plant in Guanajuato, central Mexico.

Located at the Advance Puerto Interior industrial park, in the municipality of Silao, the new Rivulis factory is set to become the largest manufacturing site for drip irrigation in the Americas. The facility started operations earlier this month.

By the end of 2019, the factory is expected to reach an annual capacity of half a billion meters of drip line and drip tape with room to expand in the near future.

“This multi-million dollar investment in the heart of Mexico’s agriculture zone highlights our long term commitment to the Mexican market and allows us to better serve the region we have operated in for the past 25 years,” said at the opening ceremony Rivulis’ CEO Richard Klapholz. “We have an outstanding business partner ecosystem here and chose this location in the center of Mexico to help our business partners grow beyond their business expectations.”

Neither the exact amount of investment allocated nor the job positions opened in this facility were disclosed.

The new Rivulis plant in Guanajuato is central to the Rivulis business and global footprint strategy and applies the same high-quality standards and manufacturing techniques and processes as the company does for all of its 15 manufacturing sites around the world.

“This is an investment in Mexico and for the Mexican grower’s community. I am also particularly proud of the fact that the factory is managed entirely by a local Mexican team,” said at the opening ceremony Fabien Kelbert, President of the North America Business Unit.

“We provided the team with an intense training program to ensure we continue to provide the same high-quality products Rivulis is known for around the world. The Mexican team members who have joined us at the Leon facility are truly outstanding world-class engineers and technicians,” the official added.

In addition to the Mexico facility, Rivulis has manufacturing and distribution sites in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, India, Spain, Turkey and the United States.
