Construction of Dos Bocas refinery will start on December: PEMEX

PARAÍSO   Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) informed that during the second semester of 2019, the preparation of the Dos Bocas, Tabasco will start, so they expect to start construction towards the end of the year.

The director of Finance of the company, Alberto Velázquez García, explained that for Pemex Transformación Industrial the approved budget for investment this year is US$ 3 billion, which is part of the strategies for Plan Nacional de Refinación.

In its financial report for the fourth quarter of 2018, PEMEX indicated that in the first six months of this year it will prepare the deliverables required to evaluate and submit the business case to the internal authorization instances.

Subsequently, the studies and engineering needed to continue with the project will be contracted, so that in the second semester the site preparation will begin and it is expected to start construction towards the end of the year, detailed.

According to Secretaría de Energia (Sener), the refinery will have a processing capacity of 340,000 barrels per day and will handle a 22-degree API oil, in a construction of 566 hectares of land.
