TIJUANA In order to learn about the opportunities offered by Baja California and California, diplomatic representatives and executives of four companies from the aerospace sector in Quebec made an exploratory visit to Tijuana, which could generate the arrival of new investments in the medium term.

During a meeting with staff from Desarrollo Económico e Industrial de Tijuana (Deitac), chaired by Carlos Higuera Espíritu and the delegate of Quebec, Canada, in Mexico, Stéphanie Allard-Gomez, it was commented that this exploratory journey has to do with the mission of promoting the development of business between both countries.

Allard-Gomez highlighted that the province of Quebec is made up of around 8 million inhabitants, where the first language is French and English is the second one, being one of the largest entities in the country and North America, where they have great presence, including Mexico, which is the third commercial partner after the United States and China.

In this regard, she explained that in Mexico there are around 700 Québec companies, of which the majority are representative offices of large companies, and about 40 manufacturing industries in the automotive and aerospace sectors, among which Bombardier stands out. She added that the aerospace cluster of Quebec generates an average of 40,000 jobs, which represents 52% of what this industry produces throughout the Canadian territory, hence in the medium term could be an exchange with Baja California and especially in Tijuana, for being the entity with more investments of this type in Mexico.

"In this first exploration visit we have been surprised by the benefits that Tijuana offers for the operation of all types of industries, so we trust that in the near future one of the companies in our province will expand its operations in this region," concluded the delegate.
