Nitta Corporation, a Japanese multi-sector manufacturer that operates in San Luis Potosi since 2007, recently inaugurated the second phase of its expansion plan at the production facility located in the municipality of Villa de Reyes.
According to company officials, new assembly and extrusion lines were added in order to increase 30% its output capacity for piping assemblies for fuel systems. A new dining area, doctor office, dressing rooms and a clean room were also added to the plant’s footprint now expanded to 7,487 square meters.
A third expansion phase is already in the works aimed to add electric furnaces and more equipment for pneumatic assemblies. No investment figures were revealed.
The company started operations in 2007 at the Logistik 1 industrial park with a workforce of 20 employees which has increased over the time to the current 122 strong.
From its San Luis Potosi plant, Nitta supplies fuel piping assemblies to automakers and Tier 1 suppliers in Mexico, the United States and Brazil.
