As previously reported, February was a difficult month for general auto sales due in large part to the extreme weather that hit much of the United States.

The decline was so steep that even the light truck segment registered mixed results despite being a niche in constant growth.

It is also noteworthy the upsurges in deliveries that recorded subcompacts such as the Kia Rio and the Nissan Versa last month in a market that is increasingly smaller.

The following report does not necessary reflects that each vehicle sold from certain model was built in Mexico, as marked in those particular cases. Automakers constantly mix domestic and overseas supplies from several countries to meet U.S. demand.

Audi

In February, Audi of America sold 13,560 vehicles in the U.S. market, which represents a decrease of 12.2%. It was Audi’s fifth consecutive monthly decline after a streak of 107 months of sales increases in a row.

Sales of the Puebla-made Q5 SUV, Audi’s best-selling model in the United States, decreased 2% last month to 4,359 units, which means that nearly one in three vehicles sold by the German automaker in February was a Q5.
