Foam Creations, a subsidiary of Italy-based Finproject Industrial Group, recently inaugurated its new facility in Guanajuato, Central Mexico, where the company moved its operations from a smaller site.

The company invested US$4 million to build the new premises located at the Stiva industrial park in the city of León, state capital.

The former production facility started operations in Guanajuato in 2011. During the opening ceremony, company executives gave medals to 26 employees, who have been there since day one, for their loyalty.

The plant already had a 400-workers staff who were transferred to the new facility, but another 100 job positions are expected to be filled by July in order to increase production capacity.

Foam Creations is the North American division of the Finproject Industrial Group, an Italian company specialized in molded foam, compact and expanded compounds and in the manufacture of ultralight products for top footwear brands and other industrial sectors, including the spa, automotive, furniture and safety industries.

The company offers spa pillows and covers; custom made kayak, ATV, stadium, toilet, patio chair, and pedal boat seats, as well as seat cushions; knee cushions, knee pads, electronic equipment protection, iPad protectors, headset protectors, and electronic cassette protectors for the protective gear industry.

It also builds watersport accessories, such as swim boards, water workout swim belts, dock protectors, swim fins, and swim water games; sandals, slippers, boots and shoe soles; and tricycle wheels, soccer balls, animal toys, shower mats, design chairs, and flying discs.

The Mexican facility supplies soles and finished products for a wide range of footwear manufacturers in North America, including Crocs, who last year closed a production plant in this region.

In fact, several Crocs’ former workers were hired by Foam Creations previous to the expansion.
