German structural components manufacturer Allgaier recently broke ground at its premises in the Municipality of Amozoc, Puebla, to expand its production facility.

The company plans to invest US$10 million and to open 60 job positions to set at least two production lines one each dedicated to an Audi or Volkswagen program.

In the case of Audi, Allgaier will supply components for the Q5 SUV, which is the only model built by the company in Mexico.

But what’s even more interesting in that the parts supplied to Volkswagen will be featured in the new SUV, allegedly named Tarek, that the German automaker plans to build starting 2020 at the Puebla assembly plant located nearby.

This is the company’s second significant investment in Mexico over the last two years. Last October, the manufacturer officially opened its second plant in the country, located at the FINSA industrial park in the city of Aguascalientes.

The company invested US$ 20.6 million and opened 100 high skilled job positions in order to start operations.
