Oerlikon Balzers invests US$4 million in Querétaro

QUERETARO — With a US$4 million investment, Oerlikon Balzers opened its second plant in Queretaro, and the third one in the country.

The Swiss company produces solutions against the wear and tear suffered by surfaces of the automotive, aeronautical, food and metal mechanic sectors, mainly. It uses sustainable production methods, including PPD (Pulsed Plasma Diffusion) technology, unique in Latin America.

During the event, Marc Desrayaud, president of the Business Unit of Oerlikon Balzers Industrial Solutions, acknowledged the work of the state government, and reaffirmed his confidence in the workforce’s professionalism and in the economic development of Querétaro.

He mentioned that environmental protection is of great importance for the company, so that their production processes and products do not harm the environment. He indicated that the entity has remained on the path of industrial specialization, with an effective link between industry, academia and government, united to promote a knowledge economy.

"These are significant steps, so I can affirm that their decision to grow in Querétaro is well supported. We are the most attractive state in Mexico to invest in the next 3 years, according to a report of the consulting firm KPMG, "said Francisco Domínguez Servién, governor of the State of Queretaro.
