Honda reaches 1 million transmissions in Guanajuato

CELAYA  The Honda plant in the municipality of Celaya celebrated the production of one million transmissions in the state.

Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo said that it has been difficult for the Japanese company to reach this figure, since it has been four years of challenges.

During the celebration, he congratulated the executives of the company, for their vision and leadership, as well as the 1,063 associates who work in this plant.

On May 2, 2013, Honda announced the investment it would make in Guanajuato of this transmission plant. On September 23 of the same year, the first stone of what is now the newest and most modern ship of the Japanese company in North America was placed.

Rodríguez Vallejo pointed out that the installation of Honda in the entity has been essential for the arrival of other suppliers, both local and foreign, which have nationally triggered the economy as well as in the Bajío.

Before the ambassador of Japan in Mexico, Yasushi Takase, reiterated all the support to the Japanese community that lives in the entity and is present through economy, sport, art and culture.

Ambassador Yasushi Takase highlighted the good friendship with Guanajuato in various areas, mainly economic, since there are about 300 Japanese companies in Guanajuato territory.
