MEXICO — The German Space Agency (DLR) offered the "Image Workshop / ERIS Satellite Images Receiving Station“to Mexican specialists with the purpose of receiving the knowledge and support of the collaboration between the institutions.
The workshop is co-organized by the South Border College (ECOSUR) and the DLR, it is presented as part of efforts to strengthen the knowledge of Mexican specialists in the reception of satellite information for climate monitoring and, especially, for the protection of the population from disasters due to natural phenomena.
In a statement, the general director of the Mexican Aerospace Agency (AEM), Javier Mendieta Jiménez, thanked the support of the German authorities and stressed that this is an example of how the exchange of technological and scientific knowledge can be strengthened.
For its part, the DLR endorsed its willingness to continue reinforcing its ties with the AEM, to improve the management and continuous operation of the ERIS Antenna, exploring the possibilities to expand the capacity of the receiving station
The workshop was attended by experts from the ERIS consortium, which has under its supervision the care and operation of the antenna dedicated to the reception of perception data, obtained through terrestrial observation satellites, for the execution of scientific projects.
